Narrative:Written off (destroyed) February 12, 1980: approximately 11 minutes after night takeoff, hit a mountain in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Ranges in level flight. Pilot's alcohol level in eye fluid 0.147 percent. Aircraft destroyed by post-impact fire, and the two persons on board (pilot and one passenger) were killed. According to the following excerpt from the official NTSB report into the accident:
"PROBABLE CAUSE(S)
PILOT IN COMMAND - MISJUDGED ALTITUDE AND CLEARANCE
PILOT IN COMMAND - PHYSICAL IMPAIRMENT
MISCELLANEOUS ACTS,CONDITIONS - ALCOHOLIC IMPAIRMENT OF EFFICIENCY AND JUDGMENT"
