Narrative:
Ex-RAF Chipmunk T.10 WB610. Delivered 17/04/1950. Struck off charge at 22 MU RAF Sillotth, Cumbria, on 31/08/1955. Sold on 01/08/56 to W. S. Shackleton Ltd, London, England for export to Australia, and registered VH-BSM in 1957

In 1972, whilst towing a glider, it struck a fence near Benalla, and was out of commission for a while, the rebuild taking place at Albury.

Sadly, Mr. W. N. Sherwill (pilot and registered owner) was killed on 4/12/1988 when the aircraft failed to complete a low level loop and struck the ground soon after taking off from a private airstrip at Shepperton North, near St. James, Victoria, Australia. The aircraft impacted the ground in a south westerly direction with a nose-low, wings level attitude. It then bounced off the ground and came to rest in about 10 metres with the engine dislodged from the airframe and the landing gear collapsed.

Wreckage reported to be still in existance at Tocumwal Aerodrome (seen there 26/4/1998)
