Narrative:
Shot down bf 109 fighter during raid on Brest.
Mission : Brest. Took off from RAF Waddington at 0934 hrs. Shot down by Bf109's and came down in the sea roughly 6 kms off Brest. Claim by Lt Horst Walbeck 3/JG2 at 14:03. Those who died are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial. Plt Off Stokes was an Australian serving with the RAF.
