Narrative:
Helicopter was fire-fighting in the mountains. Wind speed was up to 38 knots. The helicopter was operating in the lee of the mountain and subject to mountain rotor turbulence. The bambi bucket, on a 33ft sling, collided with the rising terrain and the helicopter crashed after the pilot was unable to correct the helicopters sudden change in attitude (nose down). The helicopter was destroyed by the post impact fire. The pilot was fatally injured.
