Narrative:
The aircraft, a de Havilland DHC-2 MK1 float plane, C-GBHJ, was located inverted in the Strait of Georgia west of Stuart Island, British Columbia.
The aircraft sustained unreported damage and the sole pilot onboard had received fatal injuries.
Hunters spotted the submerged aircraft, drifting in the ebb tide in Vancouver Bay (Campbell River 25nm North), aircraft was equipped with ELT but no alert was heard. TSB photo below shows gear extended.
