Narrative:
Vickers Wellington Mk. X PF943 of 1 PRFU, RAF: written off (damaged beyond repair) 23 March 1949: The crew was completing a training sortie in RAF Finningley, Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Upon landing, the aircraft swung off the runway, went out of control and came to rest with the tailwheel caught in a drain. The aircraft sustained severe damage to the rear fuselage. All four crew members escaped uninjured while the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.
