Narrative:PT702: Spitfire LF. IX, built by CBAF (Castle Bromwich Aircraft Factory) with Merlin M66 engine. To 33MU RAF Lyneham, Wiltshire 3-8-44. To 222MU RAF North Luffenham 11-8-44 for packing and crating for overseas shipment. Shipped on the SS 'Silverguava' 22-8-44, arriving Casablanca, Morocco 11-9-44. To 241 Squadron in Italy in December 1944. The squadron operated various reconnaissance and ground attack duties in Italy until the end of the war (8-5-45). 241 squadron was disbanded in Italy on 14-8-45.

Written off (damaged beyond repair) 9-8-46: various fasteners securing the radio panel worked loose, and the panel came off in flight, causing damage to the fuselage. The pilot reacted by making a forced landing at Treviso, Province of Treviso, Veneto Region, Italy
