Ten Mosquitoes (five from each squadron) were detailed to carry out Serrate / AI patrols in support of bombers who were carrying out sorties at Villeneuve and Lille, as well as mine-laying operations in the Gdynia area. Nine aircraft took-off (five of 141 and four of 239) and eight successfully completed their sorties.
Mosquito DZ290/N (239 Sqdn): Took off at 01:55 hra for mission over Gdynia area. 10/04/1944
Was forced to return early owing to both engines surging and vibrating. Landing at 02:15hrs.
