Narrative:
The scheduled time of departure of Japan Airlines' flight JAL/JL9 from Chicago/O'Hare to Tokyo/Narita was originally 10:45 CST (16:45 UTC) of 28th December, however delayed until 15:26 CST due to snow at the airport. When the plane took off from the runway 10L, warning indications on the landing gear appeared. Inspecting the runway, some pieces of the gear detached were found on the runway. The flight continued to Narita, and made an emergency landing at the runway 34L at 20:15 JST (11:15 UTC) of 29th December, after a low pass for inspection from the ground. No injuries were reported among 232 occupants.
