Narrative:
Mosquito G-AGGF (ex.HJ720): Took off at 20:15 hrs for Cargo flight, flying to Bromma Airport, Stockholm. 17/08/1943
After take-off at 21:05 hrs he radioed that he was returning to RAF Leuchars, but no reason was given. Last wireless contact at 21:36 hrs. No more was heard. The aircraft crashed when on approach to RAF Leuchars. Gamekeeper on 8 September found wreckage in Glen Esk. The aircraft had hit a mountain at 2,500 feet on approach in bad weather, and had become BOAC first Mosquito loss.
