Narrative:
Miles Magister I L6894, 3 ERFTS, Hamble; written off (destroyed) when went out of control and spun into the ground at Botley, 4 miles from Hamble, Hampshire. Pilot - Gerald Ian Fellowes Colmore (aged 20 and a Canadian national) - was killed. According to a contemporary newspaper report ("Western Daily Press" Tuesday 14 June 1938):

PUPIL PILOT KILLED NEAR BOTLEY.
'Plane Flies On, Just Clearing Main Road.
Gerald Colmore (20), a Canadian pupil pilot in the R.A.F., was killed in a crash near Botley, Hampshire yesterday. He was flying at a height of about 600 feet when the aeroplane apparently got out of control. He had only just left the instructional centre at Hamble, about four miles away. An eye-witness said he saw Colmore drop out of the aeroplane but apparently he was not high enough for his parachute to open. He fell like a stone into a field. The aeroplane flew straight on for more than 300 feet, just clearing the main road from Portsmouth to Southampton, and showering cyclists with fabric and broken telephone wires. It missed by only a few feet the roof of Bridge House, and crashed into a farmhouse gate."
