Narrative:de Havilland DH.100 Vampire FB.Mk 5, CFS (Central Flying School), RAF: delivered 19/6/1951. Written off (damaged beyond repair) 20/6/1953 when crashed on take off at RAF Little Rissington, Gloucestershire. The aircraft stalled on take off due to engine failure.
Although the aircraft was wrecked (written off as "damaged beyond economic repair"), the pilot appears to have escaped uninjured. Wreckage recovered and Struck Off Charge 22/6/53 as Cat. 5(c) by de Havillands, then authorised to be reduced to components and scrap.
