Narrative:Attack on the German Battleship Tirpitz, moored at Fættenfjord north of Trondheim. The aircraft was hit by German flak and caught fire. At 02.15 the aircraft crashed into the Trondheimsfjord at Vikan, and exploded killing all onboard.
Following post war enquiries and investigations it was established that the aircraft crashed 15kms north west of Drontheim, Norway on the 30 March. This is a point in the sea a short distance from the north shore of Trondheim Fiord.
