Narrative:
Gloster Meteor F.Mk.8 WE884: Delivered to RAF at 29 MU High Ercall 19.6.51. First issued to 63 Sqn 14.11.52 coded Y. Written off (damaged beyond repair) when Hit birds and engine caught fire; abandoned over Longham, 1 mile North of Wendling, Breckland, Norfolk (at approximate co ordinates 52.70596°N 0.87488°E) on 26.2.55

Crew: Flying Officer Keith Norman CARPENTER RAF (pilot, Service No.584039) - ejected at 2,500 feet and 200 knots, but survived OK.
