Narrative:Hawker Audax Mk.1 K8315, 9 FTS, RAF South Cerney, Gloucestershire: Written off (destroyed) when crashed 13/5/40, after stalling and diving into the ground, ½ mile east of Beversbrook Bombing Range, Calne, Wiltshire. Pilot - Sergeant (Pilot U/T) Charles D. Thorn, RAFVR 742760, age 25, was killed.
He was buried at Stanton St. Quintin (St. Giles) Churchyard Extension (death registered at Chippenham, Wiltshire).
