Narrative:
DHC-1 Chipmunk T10, WK563/"DN", RAF College Cranwell: delivered 3/3/1952. Written off 12/3/1953 when crashed in a flying accident at RAF Barkston Heath, Lincolnshire.

During night flying in good weather conditions, the pilot positioned the aircraft badly behind three other aircraft, and then allowed the aircraft to descend, The aircraft undershot on approach to RAF Barkston Heath, and was written off due to damage sustained when the aircraft flew into a tree.

Despite being written off as "damaged beyond repair", the pilot appears to have survived with only minor injuries.
