Narrative:
Miles Magister Mk.I L8136, 213 (Ceylon) Squadron, RAF: Written off (damaged beyond repair) 11/11/38 when crash landed at Shillington, Bedfordshire (at approximate co ordinates 51.984°N 0.365°W) as the result of engine failure, on a passenger flight between RAF Wittering, Northamptonshire to RAF Hendon, Middlesex. Both crew survived the accident, sustaining only minor injuries:

Pilot: Pilot Officer R.F. Weatherhill
Passenger: Pilot Officer B.J.E. Lane

Both Weatherhill and Lane were injured and the purpose of the flight was for both to go on leave in London. Lane was going to visit his parents in Pinner, Middlesex. The accident was attended to by RAF Henlow
