The pilot had reported that the door of the plane came open mid-flight. He later experienced engine failure and crash landed into waters 1 mile off of the Northern Coast of Nassau, Bahamas. The plane and pilot are still missing.
The aircraft is not recovered.

CONCLUSIONS
The AAID has determined the probable cause of this accident to be loss of control inflight and uncontrolled collision with terrain (ocean). Engine malfunction has been determined to be a contributing factor to the loss of control inflight.
