Narrative:
On a training mission out of Dyess AFB, the aircraft crashed and exploded, 20 miles West of Livingston and 15 miles North of Yellowstone National Park, at 8,500 ft. on the Southwest timber covered side of Emigrant Mountain (10,926 ft. peak), Southern Montana, setting off a forest fire which prevented early search efforts.
The four aircrew, Instructor Pilot - Captain J.W.Faulconer, Pilot - Lt. L.G. Sawyers, Co-Pilot - Lt. D.T. Sutton, Lt. F.J Hixenbaughand were killed in the crash.
