Narrative:
The aeroplane deviated from its path on final approach and struck a tree top. It made a hard landing and the landing gear failed. The aeroplane veered off the runway and collided with a small wall.

Contributing factors
The accident resulted from the pilot's failure to detect an obstacle while the aircraft was not on the final approach course.
In the hypothesis that the pilot's attentional resources remained effectively mobilized on the C172 even after the latter no longer represented a threat, may have contributed to the accident :
- The non-anticipation of the occupation of the runway by the C172, although the entire flight seems to have been carried out close to it, and the lack of implementation of an effective separation strategy for the landing.
- The sequence of several discovery flights by the pilot, most of them under BIA convention, likely to generate fatigue.
- The period during which the accident occurred, which may still be a period of digestion, conducive to drowsiness.
- The pilot's limited recent experience, all aircraft combined, and in particular on PA28, which is not conducive to the automation of part of the tasks and therefore does not allow him to free up certain attentional resources to deal with the threat encountered.
- The attenuation with age of an individual's ability to divide his attention during a threat. from the execution of complex tasks or to move from the execution of a task to another.
