An experimental Quicksilver Sport, amateur built by William E. Stephens, impacted open field terrain in Mt. Vernon, Posey County, Indiana. The airplane sustained substantial damage and the two occupants onboard were fatally injured.

According the official FAA file the registration N2942A was cancelled 30 may 2018!
Note: Since “recurring” fees were adopted in the US to replace the “only once on initial registration” standard, many registration fee renewals went unnoticed by their owners, hence the reason for the majority of the cancellations.
