Narrative:
Le 14 mai 1998 à 16 h 01, le Cessna 172 immatriculé F-BSHF décolle de Bilbao (Espagne) avec quatre personnes à bord, pour un vol retour à destination de Belvès près de Bergerac (24). Dès qu'il atteint la côte il rencontre de la brume et des stratus bas qui s'étendent tout au long des côtes basque et landaise. Après avoir dépassé Biarritz, il poursuit vers le nord en suivant la plage à basse altitude et disparaît des écrans radar du contrôle aérien à 17 h 13 au large de Lit-et-Mixe (40).
