Griffiss Air Force Base is a former United States Air Force installation in the northeastern United States, located in Central New York state at Rome, about fifteen miles (25 km) northwest of Utica, in the Mohawk Valley, among the Mohawk River, Six Mile Creek and the New York State Barge Canal.
