Following the rail track east of Schlüchtern (VFR) they crashed into the first and foggy hills of the Rhön mountains, between Elm and Hutten.

Passengers: Mr Josef Groß (Louisville, USA), Mrs Thekla Neubauer (Lufthansa secretary), Mr Georg Rücker (Frankfurt), Mrs Rücker (survived).
