A Cessna F172N Skyhawk (Reims) crashed under unknown circumstances in a field, along the road, at the place called Le Grand-Sorillon in Abzac, Libournais. The pilot (64) died in the crash.

The pilot was a former army colonel, who had passed his pilot's license a year ago.
"I was in my garden and I heard the plane coming very fast, leaning on the side. I thought it was going to crash into a house in the village. But then it throttled back... and I heard a huge noise," described a witness.
