The B&F Technik FK14 Polaris with the registration D-MMLM took off from the "Caltabiano" airfield (CT) with two people on board for a sightseeing flight in VFR conditions, heading to the "Val Vibrata" airfield located in the municipality of Corropoli (TE).
During the final approach for landing, the aircraft impacted the ground, resulting in substantial damage. The pilot lost his life in the incident, while the passenger sustained serious injuries.
The incident was caused by the pilot's loss of control in flight due to the occurrence of an unrecoverable asymmetric stall during the final turn, primarily attributed to the limited altitude from the ground.
