Following a reported loss of engine power, the aircraft sustained substantial damage subsequent to a ditching and it sank to the bottom offshore Chub Cay in the Berry Islands, Bahamas.
The pilot and passenger received serious injuries.

The aircraft can not be recovered.
“The AAIA has been informed by our United States-based salvage and recovery team, that salvage of the aircraft is not feasible due to the location of the crash, which extends thousands of feet down into the ocean in some areas”
