On 5 March 2022, the Russian Air Force Mil Mi-8AMTSh s/n RF-91165, code 58 blue, operated by the 39th Helicopter Regiment, was shot down by Ukrainian forces near Mykolaiv, Mykolaiv Oblast, Ukraine. All three crew members did not survive.
