Westlinton (or West Linton) is a small village and civil parish in Cumbria, England, approximately six miles north of Carlisle. It is in the City of Carlisle district, and is located north of Carlisle, on the A7 road between Carlisle and Longtown. Not to be confused with West Linton, a village in the Scottish Borders area of Scotland.
NOTE: The official report at the National Archives at Kew is in error - it states that the Tiger Moth involved was 'T6458' [sic]. However Tiger Moth T6458 was shipped to South Africa 10.8.41. This airframe was civilianised in South Africa post-war (as ZS-FEL, ZS-XRF and then ZU-EEG) and was still flying in 2020
