Narrative:
The Boeing KC-46A Pegasus made an emergency landing at Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst with the refueling boom still deployed. The aircraft was carrying multiple New Hampshire congressional staff members during the incident. The boom is seen in multiple videos scraping across the runway while landing, there were no injuries sustained. The tanker would have returned to Pease Air National Guard Base, but the runway was temporarily closed. An unrelated emergency earlier in the day forced a C-5M Super Galaxy out of Dover, Delaware to divert to Pease, shutting down runway operations.
