The aircraft was destroyed when it impacted the terrain during an attempted return to the point of departure at Nogales International Airport (KOLS), Nogales, Arizona.
The two occupants sustained minor injuries.
The FAA reported that the airplane was on approach but it went around and was unable to gain altitude and crash landed.
