A Boeing 777-3DZER of Qatar Airways, performing flight QTR/QR806 from Hamad International Airport, Doha, Qatar was landed at runway 34R of Tokyo/Narita International Airport at 18:17 LT, and arrived at a gate (possibly 72) in Terminal 2 at 18:36 LT with 41 minutes of delay. While preparing for a return flight QTR/QR807 after passenger disembarkation, a ground maintenance personnel observed a fire erupted from a tire of the left main landing gear at c. 18:45 LT. The fire siezed quickly by a fire extinguisher before eight ARFF vehicles came to the scene. The runway 34R was closed for eight minutes between 18:58 and 19:06 LT. No personal injuries. The return flight departed from Narita at 23:39 LT, which was one hour and 44 minutes behind the schedule.
