An AMB Sukhoi Su-30MK2V Flanker-G+, operated by Grupo Aéreo de Caza Libertador 13, was destroyed when it crashed following a bird strike in an unpopulated area between Paracotos and Tejerias in the state of Miranda, Venezuela.
Both pilots ejected, one pilot sustained fatal injuries when he landed, and the other was seriously injured.

The jet was participating in the Air Parade of the upcoming 5 July celebrations. The jet broke the formation after it experienced engine troubles after a bird ingestion forcing both pilots to eject.
