Narrative:
The aircraft, an experimental Lester A. Hall kit built Lancair Legacy 2000, N707MM, powered by an 850shp Pratt & Whitney PT6A-42 turboprop engine, suffered a catastrophic engine failure while cruising at about 27000 feet over St Mary Township, Minnesota.

An eventful emergency landing was conducted at Rochester International Airport (RST/KRST), Minnesota, about 195 miles away from Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Destroyed engine parts damaged the paint on the wings and tail of the aircraft.
