Narrative:
Mise à jour #1 : Le numéro et la classe d'enquête du BST ont été ajoutés. Selon le rapport du BST #A10Q0064: L'hélicoptère Robinson R22 Beta, immatriculé C-GPIG effectuait un vol de nuit à basse vitesse (12 à 15 kts) et à basse altitude (50 et 75 pieds) au-dessus des champs pour empêcher le gel des cultures. Après un virage le pilote a ressenti des vibrations importantes, puis l'appareil s'est enfoncé suivi d'un atterrissage brutal. Le pilote a baissé le collectif pour immobiliser l'appareil, couper la puissance et fermer les circuits électriques avant d'évacuer. L'appareil a subi des dommages importants aux pales du rotor de queue qui ont été sectionnées. Le pilote seul à bord n'a pas été blessé.*** ** *** Update #1: TSB investigation number and class were added. According to TSB Report #A10Q0064: The Robinson R22 Beta helicopter, registration C-GPIG, was making a low speed (12-15 knots) night flight at low altitude (50-75 feet) over the fields to prevent the crops from freezing. After a turn, the pilot sensed significant vibration; the aircraft plunged and made a hard landing. The pilot lowered the collective to immobilize the aircraft, cut the power and switched off the electrical circuits before evacuating. The aircraft sustained major damage to the tail rotor blades, which were severed. The pilot, who was alone on board, was not injured., 2010-05-12 - Un Robinson R22 de propriété privée, effectuait un vol selon les règles de vol à vue (VFR) dans la région de St-Rémi. L'aéronef a décollé à 50 pieds d'altitude afin d'effectuer une inspection visuelle des champs (gelée). L'aéronef a subi un problème au niveau du rotor de queue et s'est écrasé. Il n'y a eu aucun blessé. L'aéronef a été lourdement endommagé.*** ** *** A privately owned Robinson R22 was on a VFR flight in the St-Rémi area. It was flying at an altitude of 50 feet to make a visual inspection of farm fields (because of frost). The aircraft had a problem with the tail rotor and crashed. There were no injuries. The aircraft sustained heavy damage., 2012-09-24 - Update #2: According to TSB report #A10Q0064: The inspection of the aircraft and the rotor drive belt tension systems revealed that the belts had come off the pulleys when the rotors were engaged. The rotors were engaged for considerably longer than the standards specified in the aircraft?s manual. The manual states that if the rotors are engaged for longer than 5 seconds before the rotor begins to turn, the belts can move and eventually rupture in flight.
