A MiG-29 fighter aircraft of the 204th Tactical Aviation Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Force was destroyed in a Russian strike on the Kulbakino Air Base located in Mykolaiv. Images of the completely destroyed aircraft were posted on Russian Telegram channels in early November 2023. The airstrike followed a strike on 25 September 2023, which had destroyed another MiG-29.

Russian state news agency TASS reported that two Ukrainian MiG-29 aircraft had been destroyed on 29 September 2023, citing a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defence According to the MoD, the aircraft had been sent to Ukraine from Poland, and were modified for the use of NATO weapons.
