Narrative:
Ex G-NZAW and ZK-AAL. Impressed as NZ501 1.10.39. Operated by 2 EFTS. A wingtip hit a fence at New Plymouth Airport, New Plymouth, Taranaki, while demonstrating side slipping, the aircraft overturned and was badly damaged. Aircraft written off.

c/no. 866 DH.60G Moth [Gipsy I engine#93, amended to #32] to New Zealand Air Ministry without C of A; assembled by New Zealand Government at Wigram, Sockburn, Christchurch 1.29. Registered G-NZAW later in 1929 to Auckland Aero Club, Mangere, Auckland (and painted as "NZAW"); Re-registered ZK-AAL [C of R 37] 1.12.29 to Auckland Aero Club, Mangere, Auckland

Crashed into hill in cloud near source of Red Rocks Stream, Wellington en-route Rongotai-Nelson 17.3.34; pilot E W Boucher, president of Auckland Aero Club killed & passenger (club secretary L W Swan) injured. Salvaged and rebuilt by 16.9.35. Ownership formally to Auckland Aero Club Inc 22.3.35 after 1000 hours had been flown
