A Eurocopter AS 350B3+ Ecureuil crashed at taxiway A less than a minute after takeoff from Wajir Airport (WJR/HKWJ) when it was transporting examination papers to Arbajahan.
The helicopter lifted off from Wajir airport’s remote apron and turned left for departure to Arbajahan. Abeam runway 15, the pilot reported turning back to the apron and was cleared by the tower. At this point the helicopter was observed from the tower to have lost altitude and crashed at taxiway A towards the intersection of Taxiways A and H.
One occupant sustained serious injuries and two sustained minor injuries and the helicopter received substantial damage
