A SIMILAR EVENT OCCURRED WHILE THE CFI WAS ABOARD THE ACFT BEFORE THE ACCIDENT FLT BUT INSP BY A MECHANIC REVEALED NO DETERMINATION COULD BE MADE AS TO THE REASON FOR THE BINDING.
