Narrative:
THE PLT STATED THAT SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF THE ENG STARTED TO RUN ROUGH & THEN FAILED COMPLETELY. INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE CRANKSHAFT HAD FAILED IN FATIQUE. LABORATORY TEST SHOWED A CORE HARDNESS BELOW THE MINIMUM SPECIFIED.
