Narrative:
A DHC-1 Chipmunk crashed, injuring the pilot.
At 1513AWST VH-POR was issued a takeoff clearance for a left circuit at YPJT. At 1514 AWST pilot made a call POR Mayday Mayday.
The aircraft collided with ground with the port wing low and little forward momentum. The 72 year old pilot was taken to Royal Perth Hospital in a critical condition. However unfortunately passed some time later.
