Narrative:WITNESSES STATED THAT THE HOMEBUILT GYROCOPTER ENTERED A STEEP CLIMB AND APPEARED TO ROLL COMPLETELY OVER. HALFWAY THROUGH THE ENGINE BACKFIRED AND THEN QUIT. THE AIRCRAFT WENT INTO A STEEP DIVE. THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE TERRAIN NEAR VERTICALLY. CAUSE:
