Narrative:Republic F-84E-30-RE Thunderjet, Ex-USAF 51-9596: Transferred to the Dutch AF Koninklijke Luchtmacht (KLu) as "K-15" 9/1951. Delivered crated 9/1951 to Vokel AB and assembled there. Issued to 311 Squadron Koninklijke Luchtmacht (KLu) Volkel AB, Volkel, Netherlands as "PP-13".
Written off (destroyed) 21/1/1952: Crashed into IJsselmeer, off Kampen, Overijssel during formation flight. Pilot killed. Wreck burnt up in firefighting practice.
Kampen is a city and municipality in the province of Overijssel, Netherlands. A member of the former Hanseatic League, it is located at the lower reaches of the river IJssel.
