Narrative:
Lockheed Hudson N7396, 'NO-V' of 320 (Netherlands) Squadron, RAF: Written off destroyed 10.8.41 when crashed a few minutes after take off from RAF Leuchars; the twin engine aircraft hit a hill three miles West of Dunino, some 10 km south of Saint Andrews. The aircraft was wrecked and both crewmen were killed.

Both crew were Netherlands nationals; they arrived in the UK on 31.5.40 on the Netherlands vessel 'Batavier II' from Cherbourg, France, after escaping from the Netherlands on 16.5.40. Both were buried at Leuchars Cemetery in Fife.

Dunino is a village and parish in the East Neuk of Fife. It is 10 km from the nearest town, St Andrews, and 8 km from the fishing village of Anstruther.
