Miles Master Mk.I T8331, 57 OTU: Written off (destroyed) when Collided with Spitfire X4595 on approach to RAF Hawarden and crashed not far south of the airfield. The Miles Master had its tailplane severed, and dived into the ground, catching fire on impact. The pilot suffered serious injuries (burns and spinal injuries) and died in Chester Hospital that evening at 21:00 hours
Pilot - Sgt Pierre Johannes van Boxtel (Netherlands pilot) RAFVR (Service Number 1149997, aged 20) - died from injuries received in a flying accident. Buried at Harwarden Cemetery, Harwarden, Flintshire
