Narrative:
The aircraft was seen to be flying eratically before suddenly pitching nose-up and then diving straight into the ground near Terwolde, disintegrating on impact. Presumably, the pilot was incapacitated by oxygen system failure as there was no response to attempts to raise him on R/T.

1/Lt. G.H. Logan did not survive and is buried at the Ardennes War Cemetery in Belgium; grave B-41-10.

The Mustang was flying fighter escort for the USAAF operation against Hamm (Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany).
