Took off from RAF Dunholme Lodge at 22:57 hrs for a bombing operation against the synthetic oil plant at Wesseling.

Outward-bound, the aircraft was intercepted by night fighter pilot Oberleutnant Hermann Leube of the 4./NJG 3, who had taken off from Eindhoven airfield at 00:35 hrs, in Junkers Ju 88 G-1 D5+KM; sent down to explode twixt the village of Riethoven and the nearby town of Valkenswaard. All are buried in Eindhoven (Woensel) General Cemetery:
