Narrative:Takeoff at 00:08 hrs for participation in the second 1000 bomber raid; this time the target being Essen, Germany.
Whilst over Essen the aircraft lost power from one engine. After this happened the aircraft was unable to maintain height. Unfortunately due to this factor it was caught by searchlights and shot down over the Dutch coast. Light (leichte) Flak from the Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine was its demise. It crashed into dunes near IJmuiden. The crew were all taken prisoner of war:
