A Vulcanair P.68C-TC, EI-HPY, was destroyed when it crashed in a field near Lisselan, Ireland. The pilot was killed.
Preliminary information indicates the pilot declared an emergency approximately 50km off the coast. The accident occurred during an attempt to divert to Waterford Airport (WAT/EIWF).

The AAIU has been notified of an accident involving a twin-engined general aviation aircraft in the vicinity of Lisselan Co. Waterford this afternoon. The AAIU is deploying a team of four inspectors of air accidents to the accident site to commence an investigation.
