A Tecnam P2008 ditched in the ocean off Cape Brett after smoke filled the cockpit. A private boat picked up the two people on board and took them to shore. Nil injuries reported.
The aircraft had been involved in a hard landing at Kerikeri Airport on July 25, 2025, suffering damage to the prop and nose wheel.
The aircraft was repaired and flew again on 20 November 2025. The accident flight was the 12th flight after repairs.
